Picking out the best used Toyota Corolla series

Toyota is a brand that most used car buyers keep on their list due to the reliability and power-packed performance of the brand’s cars. The Toyota Corolla has been in the market since 1966 and is still considered one of the best-selling sedans. The Toyota Corolla is currently in its 11th generation and has been witnessing revamped technology to fit the specific needs of the drivers. Due to the multiple generations that the Toyota Corolla has gone through, there are quite a number of used Toyota cars in the market circulating the rounds for sale. Having undergone significant redesigning in 2003 and 2009, here is a list of potential Toyota Corolla models that could suit any buyer:

2007 Toyota Corolla
This ninth generation series had got extra space and updated horsepower. The 2007 series had a standard aluminum 1.8 liter V4 DOHC engine that gave out 126 hp and 122 lb-ft torque. The 2008 model had the same features in terms of engine and performance. Another addition to this series was the 5” wider wheelbase, and also the standard transmission was five-speed manual with a choice to opt for four-speed automatic. The safety features on the Corolla included Anti-lock brakes, stability control, and side and curtain airbags.

2009 Toyota Corolla
This model was ranked one of the best affordable cars in its class because the Corolla brought back it’s infamous sports XRS trim which was equipped with a 2.4-liter V4 engine that displaced 26 hp. The standard 1.8-liter engine was maintained in its regular trims. The chief restructuring was the addition of the anti-lock brakes as a standard in all its trims apart from the option of adding tech-updated extras like keyless entry, satellite radio, electronic stability control, etc. The Toyota Corolla was awarded the top safety pick rating from the IIHS and was rated well by the NHTSA as well.

2011, 2012, and 2013 models did not have much working done on them except for the occasional exterior styling. Another significant uplift came with the 2014 model that underwent a series of changes on the styling front but nothing towards the engine. So, when you are looking to buy used Toyota cars, these are a few options that you can consider.
