Insulin is in important hormone that cells in your pancreas makes to use the glucose your body gets from the carbohydrates you eat for energy or to store the glucose for future use. Insulin basically helps keeping you blood sugar level from getting high or low.

Insulin injection using the insulin pen can be taken anywhere and anytime. You do not need to be at home or at the hospital to get the injection. Once you know how to use it well, you are good to go. With the ease, one can give oneself an accurate dose of insulin and in regular intervals without having to miss any prescribed dose.

You can use an insulin pen injection yourself. There is no need of a third hand to help you out. The first few time you will probably need a professional help as it should be the right way else it can harm you in certain ways. So, make sure you take proper guidelines before injecting.

You can buy the injection from a hospital or a medical store. They are also available online if you want it to be delivered to your house. They start from $20 and can go up to $80 to $90.

Knowing how to store a diabetes insulin pen is necessary. Once you buy an insulin pen, it must be kept in the refrigerator until it is used. Once used, you can store it in moderate temperature.

Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight and to very cold temperature.

You may also check the expiry date of your insulin before buying or using to prevent yourself from any harmful effects. Also, make sure the dosage you give yourself is accurate and only as per the prescription by your doctor.
