Simple but effective home remedies for mucus reduction

Fluids Having warm fluids like water or natural beverages can loosen up the congestion in your chest, allowing all the mucus to escape. You can also increase the intake of hot soups and broths in your diet to get rid of the uneasiness. A warm bowl of chicken or chicken soup can instantly help you improve your condition.

Green tea/honey Throughout the day have regular cups of green tea or have tablespoon of honey. These two elements can wonderfully calm your throat and lungs.

Essential oils If you have a diffuser, you can add essential oils like lavender, chamomile, rosemary, pine, tea tree, thyme, or peppermint. These can make the breathing process more pleasant for you. If you plan to take in steam or have a hot bath, then add a few drops of the oils to the water to make it additionally effective.

Balanced diet You must cut down on all the unhealthy eating habits. This means no fried and oily food, and also refrain from having anything cold like ice-cream, sodas, etc. Include food ingredients like onions, broccoli, leafy vegetables, garlic, lemon, chilies, pineapple, etc.
You can include meat proteins in the form of chicken and fish like tuna, salmon, flounder, etc. Cooking these in the right way matters too, so avoid excessively grilling them.
